Site Inspection of Concrete formwork

The completed Inspection of concrete formwork shall be inspected before the reinforcement bars are placed in position. If proper form work is adopted honey combing, blow holes, grout less or discolouration of concrete are avoided and hence the finished surface of concrete will be good. Before concreting shuttering surface should be fully cleaned and shall be free from defect/deposits so as to give perfectly straight smooth concrete surface. Shuttering surface should be free from any damage and excessive roughness to its surface.

Below Site Inspection of Concrete formwork carfully follow:

Concrete formwork

During erection of concrete form work the following are checked.

1.Any member which is to remain in position after the general dismantling is done, should be clearly marked.

2.Materials used should be checked such that no wrong items/rejects are used.

3.If there are excavations nearby corrective and strengthening action should be taken to influence the safety of form work.

4.Bearing soil must be sound and well prepared and the sole plates shall bear well on the ground. Sole plates shall be properly seated on their bearing pads or sleepers-. The bearing plates of steel props shall not be distorted. The steel parts on the bearing members shall have adequate bearing areas.

5.Safety measures are taken to prevent impact of traffic, scour due to water and accidental impacts.

6.To ensure strength and stability of form work at intermediate stage, bracing, struts and ties shall be installed along with the progress of form work. ‘Tilting and overturning of steel sections shall be avoided or restrained.
