Eco-Building Materials in Construction Work

Eco-Building Materials in Construction Work Let’s take a look at construction materials that are beneficial to the environment.

Soil Structures (Earthen Structures)

It is made up of clay, mud, gravel and limestone.  Adobe, RAMT-Earth and other bulk structures have come as an excellent alternative to the evergreen material and traditional concrete construction materials available in  India.  Manufactured locally, these provide a longer life span and protection to the buildings. Ramt-Earth is used for walls and floor structures. It recycles waste material from quarries and contains less carbon.

Straw ball (straw bale)

Although rarely used in construction, these straw balls have been much talked about in recent years.  Manufactured using agricultural waste, these are a good alternative to timber.  Houses that are built with straw roofs provide excellent protection and coolness.  When straw roofs are erected on top of thick walls they give a beautiful look and make the house look spacious. Even today, we can see houses with straw roofs in rural areas.

Bamboo (bamboo)

Bamboo can be said to be a versatile material of high cultural, economic and social importance. For structural components such as roofs, floor structures, walls, partitions and beams of a building as it is lighter in weight, flexible and cheaper than iron Is being used.  Bamboos are available in abundance all over India.  It is easy to fit these into buildings.

Natural fibres and cellulose insulation (natural fibres and cellulose insulation)

Insulation is one of the greatest helps in ensuring that a building does not lose energy.   This type of insulation is made from recycled natural fibres.    This type of material, which is available only in a few places, contains renewable resources.  Similarly, cellulose is a common insulation material made from recycled paper. These can be said to be relatively cheaper than glass fibres.   So in large quantities, these are used for buildings.

Engineer Wood

This type of engineer is used to create a strong structure using wood waste sludge and small trees.  It helps to use less wood for a structure. These trees are used to further enhance the aesthetics of the house.

Slate and Stone

It can be said that stone construction is a great evergreen choice.   Depending on their nature, the price varies, and the houses built using them have a longer life span and these structures can last for decades. It can be seen that slate is used in urban areas to give a  modern look to the roof structures.   These slats are available in black, grey, green and many other colours.

Above all are common Eco Building Materials.
