Chennai Metro Rail Limited entrusted with the implementation of Chennai Metro Rail Project requires efficient, experienced and competent person for the under mentioned posts on contract. The engagement on contract will not entail anyone to claim for any regular employment in CMRL.

Required Qualification and Experience:

Post Code 01: Asst. Manager (Track) / Dy. Manager (Track) / Manager (Track)

Candidate must possess graduation in Civil Engineering from a reputed University /Institute recognized by Govt. Should possess minimum of 5 years, 7 years and 10 years post-qualification experience for the post of Asst. Manager, Dy. Manager and Manager respectively in major Railroad Construction/Maintenance Projects/ Metro and Railway Projects with hands on experience in track alignment and laying, welding of rail joints by mobile flash butt welding and placing of points and crossings. Management of contracts relating to track infrastructure, knowledge and skill in management of FIDIC conditions of contract/International Civil Constructions Contract is desirable.

Post Code 02: Engineer (Safety)

Candidate must possess Graduation in Engineering preferably in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Construction Safety from a reputed University /Institute recognized by Govt. Possession of safety certification from NEBOSH is desirable. Should possess minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in overseeing and implementation of safety aspects of large Infrastructure projects preferably Metro Rail Project.

Roles and Responsibilities:

a) Ensuring compliance of basic OHSE rules and applicable specifications. To frame safe rules and safe working practices and ensure of on-site implementation. To have all the necessary OSHE documentation prepared for audits. To investigate incident / accident, occupational diseases contracted and reportable dangerous occurrences. To conduct weekly site safety inspection, routine

OHSE audit and to prepare inspection report thereof.

b) Well verse with activity hazard analysis and mitigation measures.

c) To conduct site safety inspection, hazard & risk assessment & HSE induction training regularly.

d) To ensure implementing of HSE Policy, Programme & Procedures at the sites.

e) To increase Health & Safety awareness among workers & staff.

f) Fully aware of Work Permit systems.

g) Complete knowledge of Legal Compliances.

h) Knowledge of accident investigation procedures and able to prepare safety reports and safety violation reports.

i) The Safety Engineer needs to ensure that the work meets all the legal requirements and Building Regulations

j) Ensure strict compliances of project OHSE specifications throughout the project.

k) Make sure that all construction activities are being carried out in accordance to preset safety rules and regulations.

l) Provide technical advice to field staff in order to ensure that construction work to proceed in safe and secure manner.

m) Identify construction constraints and plan to carry out measures to counter them.

n) Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices. Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs.

o) Implement, administer and advise others on hazard control programs.

p) Draft a future safety plan and statement based on real time experiences and facts.

q) Actively lead to promote the “Zero Accident Policy” throughout the project.

4) General Conditions:

b. Age, Qualification & experience stipulated above should be as on 21-02-2018. The candidates are advised to ensure before appearing for the walk-in-interview that they fulfill the eligibility criteria and other requirements mentioned and that the particulars furnished by them are correct in all aspects. In case, if it is detected at any stage of recruitment process that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria and / or does not comply with other requirements of this advertisement and / or the candidate has furnished any incorrect or false information or has suppressed any material fact, the candidature is liable to be rejected. If any of the above short comings is / are detected even after appointment, the services will be terminated without any notice.

c. The contract will be extended only if requirement exists on mutually agreed terms subject to the performance of the candidates.

d. In order to regulate the number of candidates to appear for the walk-in-interview, if so required, the Management reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards/criteria, or to relax the minimum eligibility standards/criteria including age limit depending upon the response to the advertised posts and experience /merit of the candidates available for the walk-in-interview.

e. Merely meeting the above qualifications and experience shall not entitle a candidate to be selected for interview.

f. Depending on the requirements, the CMRL reserves the right to cancel / curtail / increase the number of vacancies without any further notice and without assigning any reason thereof.

g. No TA/DA will be paid by CMRL to the candidates for attending the interview.

h. No application fee is to be paid by the candidates.

i. The selection committee may recommend higher remuneration in case of candidate possessing higher qualification, experience and credentiality /expertise in the relevant field.

j. CMRL reserves the right to withdraw advertised posts at any time without assigning any reason and also reserves the right to fill (either in the same position or downgraded position) or not to fill the posts and its decision in this regard shall be final.

k. Persons already working in PSU / Government organization should produce NOC at the time of interview.

l. Incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (self-attested copies of degree/mark sheet/experience certificate) at the time of walk-in-interview will be out rightly rejected.

m. Candidates attempting to influence or interfere with the selection process will be rejected

summarily and be declared disqualified for future CMRL recruitments.

n. Candidates who fulfill the above requirement may appear for walk-in- interview along with duly filled in application form (application form available in page no.4 to 6) supported by Bio-Data and one set of self-attested copies of certificate of educational qualifications, age, experience, community and latest passport size photograph. Candidates are required to bring all the original certificates for verification.
