Importance of Housing to our Life
A house is defined by the National Building Organization as a pucca or semi pucca unit of dwelling that can accommodate an average household in Housing. A pucca house is one, which walls and roof made of the following material. Wall material like burnt bricks, stones packed with lime or cement, cement concrete, timber etc. Semi pucca house that has fixed walls made up of pucca material but roof is made up of the material other than those used for pucca house. The house is useful in various ways. It is a place where one can take rest, sleep and cook food. It can also be used as shop or working place or for conducting business of any kind. The executives or officers of big concerns bring their routing work to home and can get it done at night.
A significant fraction of recreational activities is being brought into the house in modern time by television,music,radio,computer etc.As a matter of fact, a house is a part and parcel of mans life and substantial part of mans life is spent in his house.
The economic importance of housing is also very significant. It contributes to national income, national wealth and national employment. It also serves as a good source of revenue for central, state and local governments.
In general, it can be stated that the housing has a potentiality to a great extent in promoting human welfare, social life, economic growth and health of community and various other related aspects of human life. The house is the first unit of society and it is the primary unit of human habitation. The house is built to grant protection against wind and weather and to give insurance against physical insecurity of all kinds. As a matter of fact, the house has come to occupy an increasing role as a framework of family and social life.
